@n11lc He is good yeah, but you can't really compare competitive endurance racing, to being a bike messenger. There's more obstacles in your way, more danger, and time is against you, and money is on the line. When your racing the only danger is basically falling or losing the race, just saying.

to be able to have the skill and reflexes to manuver in traffic and have full controll of the bike the way he does it is amazing. I agree lance is great with the endurance run but put him in the heavy traffic crowded city scenerio and he wont last a day. My respects go to all bike messengers.

I think bike messenger is a cool job. Handful of messengers and ex-messengers I know are all down to earth and humble people. Its a low paying, hard job that is impossible to have without true passion for cycling. The 'king of messenger' might make 50 to 200 bucks a day but most of the messengers are getting paid under the desk for below minimum wage while risking their lives every minute. That being said, I would never do it. I enjoy cycling as a recreation (although i do work in the industry)

Biker is name associated to big and hairy men in middle age crisis riding their Harleys around in a group. A cyclist on the other hand is the correct term associated to people who enjoy spending time pedaling. Not to be technical but a true cyclist would know.
