UFO Sighting Redondo Beach, Ca 10-08-11 (Part 1-3)

I was smoking a cigar around midnight by the pool area and suddenly the security guard on duty came running by shouting at me to follow him quickly. When we arrived at a clearing and looked up, there were about 8 or 9 UFO's hovering in the sky. I ran back to get my cell phone and when I returned, this was the footage that was recorded.

View is from the Redondo Beach Pier area looking south toward Palos Verdes/San Pedro. Footage taken by Droid3 phone video. Exact time: 10-8-11 at 11:58 pm.

It seemed that the UFO's would be directly above the San Pedro area, perhaps the naval base, the refineries or even the Port of LA. Maybe there was something of interest there for these UFO's to come and take a closer look?

00:00 - 5 objects spotted. The one at 8 o'clock position is already dimming and moving away left.

00:19 - 6th object entering scene at 4 o'clock position.

00:37 - Object at 8 o'clock disappears behind palm tree.

00:39 - 7th object entering scene at 5 o'clock position

01:19 - Moved phone camera in front of lamp post to avoid glare. The hissing sound is from a stream that flows through the property.

01:28 - Last object dims out and disappears around center of screen.

@artybosfull I know... I thought the same thing when I saw my video for the first time. You have to realize though, at the time of the event, I was holding up my phone as best I can but I was watching the objects in the sky with my own eyes, not on the phone screen. The video does not do any justice to what we actually saw with our own eyes. If there is ever a next time, I will definitely keep your advice in mind. I do consider this a once-in-a-lifetime experience though.

i say to you and the security guard, that im impressed with the capture , and with that being said, mabe that was a good indication to you guys to get a camcorder with "night shot" option if you can. being that activity is now in that area. and even with your cell phone, the objects where very clear!!!! dont forget to report the sighting to "mufon" so its on record the sighting, the time, and location! great job !

@BloodReaperz911 Thanks for the comment and advice! I didn't know anything about MUFON so I checked out their website. And, I've sent an email reporting the event to Clifford Clift International Director of the MUTUAL UFO NETWORK. Hope he gets a chance to review the videos.

I saw something similar on October 11 early 5am looking out over the ocean toward the full moon. It looked exactly like that but further away, and it moved north. Definitely wasn't an airplane.

@ericpbaird I wonder what these UFO's were doing here that night? To the naked eye, it was much more impressive than the video from my phone. It makes me think that something big was going on somewhere around here in the South Bay that drew they're interest that night.

Could be Chinese lanterns, but they are drifting in different directions & rates.. So makes this one a bit more peculiar...

I saw these last year. They're chinese lanterns that are let go on catalina island. freaked me the eff out when I first saw them. hahaha

@RealUFOs2009 Glad someone else can see it for what it is!! One thing I don't get though, is how come it's only in the last year or two that these lanterns are being mistaken for "fleets" on such a regular basis? I'm pretty sure I can find a new video or picture of a so-called "fleet" on, at least, a fortnightly basis. The videos/pictures are the same thing every single time but I'm sure I've never seen them so frequently a couple of years ago.
