You should use clearer hand signals, dogs often understand visual cues better than vocal ones.

We just got our Sheltie puppy at the start of the week.. I have trained my own dog in the past and I do not think that any of them have caught on any faster than this puppy. Do you have any advice on "The training of a Sheltie?" is anything different with this breed that would change that training? Thanks in advance oh and Love the Bang Bang!.... loL ~Pct3ch~

Haha it took about ten years to teach my Sheltie to roll over, and he still hates it :P
Your dog is adorable! I hope you get many wonderful years with her <3

@All people concerned about her E-Collar, it was NOT used in any of my videos, and is only used when she is off leash with 1 command "COME". This is only for when she gets into a bad situation with other dogs or when she gets too close to moving vehicles. She wears it all the time except when she sleeps so that she is used to having it on. As I mentioned in another post, we were taught to use it at the lowest setting, and at this setting I cannot even feel it myself.

How did you teach Yumi the "Bang-Bang" trick?
ketimo 1 year ago
@ketimo Yumi can only do Bang Bang from the down position. From the down position you can see there is a side that she will naturally roll to... I would say Bang Bang with the hand gesture, then roll her to that side. Wait a few seconds, then praise her, and give her a tiny treat. I would say I did this about 10 times, before she did it on her own. Word of warning though, some dogs don't like being put on their side, as its a sign of weakness.

@p2kart How did you get your shelties ears to be so folded? because I see some shelties and they tend to have more pointed ears,so I was just wondering if you got her from a breeder or something else, yumi is really beautiful! thanks:)

@isolde749 we used some quick dry water solvable fabric glue... and rubbed it between our fingers until it was really tacky... then we glued some of the fur on the tip of the ears to the base of the ear... I wish we did it for a longer period... Yumi now has one year thats perma folded, and the other sticks up... its pretty cute...

You are seriously using a shock collar on a 4 month old? What, to impatient to train your puppy humanely? Lame.
Spaz678 1 year ago
@Spaz678 Lame is implying mistreatment when you have no basis other than the fact she is wearing an E-collar. You dont know how/when we use it, nor do you know the settings.
