Why does this SHIT (and hey, let's face it - that's exactly what it is - SHIT) even exist? Our medicare and social security benefits are about to be cut left and right, but GOD FORBID WE DE-FUND THE HISPANIC POLICY CONFERENCE!! Mr. President, I voted for you in '08, but I'm having a very, very hard time convincing myself to do it again.

This conference is President Obama's Administrative response to the Latinos who came out in numbers to help him get into office. It is a reminder on his part that he needs Latinos to help him stay in office. He has lost 1/3 of the Latino support down from 72% to 52%. Unfortunately it may be too little too late. There is a bit of a disconnect as to the questions that the Administration is answering as to what the Latino's real issues of concern are. It is a very needed FIRST conversation.
