An elderly dog is recovering at Wellington SPCA after it was deliberately set on by two pit bulls in Porirua on Monday.
At midday, Lincoln, a 14-year-old ridgeback cross, was attacked by the pit bulls in Whitirea Park at Shelly Bay.
Lincoln was stolen from his Titahi Bay home early Monday morning and it appeared he was taken to be used as a bait dog, SPCA animal welfare inspector Ben Lakomy says.
A witness who rang police says the two pit bulls were let off their chains and set on Lincoln

  • What is the question here? Do to them what they did to the dog!!! If those people think it's such great entertainment, they certainly shouldn't object to entertaining us!!! I can promise you this.......anyone who can do this to a dog is also doing it to a person. If you lack compassion....well,you just don't have those feelings and causing pain to anyone is a sick thrill for them.GET THEM OFF THE STREETS!!!!

Would like an update on this story. What about the dog's family?

  • the next time and has shown the others that they can get away with anything...there needs to be a death penalty for people that can do this cause they are just not right in the head. Think about it if they can harm and animal what stops them from hurting a human??? Sickos...I feel so bad for the animals that end up with these so called humans!!!!! I love animals too much and Ive just about had it with humans!!!!!

  • (continued) why people do the things they do, but in the end the dog is blamed because it did the action and is killed because they feel they cannot be rehabilitated(which is so wrong). On top of it all, jail time is just not enough, look at Michael Vick, he may have been put in jail but did he really learn his lesson...Nope...he just learned how not to get caught

  • OMG that poor dog, I'd love no more than to break those people's legs and arms and let their dogs use them as bait!!! I just can't wrap my head around

  • Anyone who would do this kind of thing to a dog deserves the most horrifying, painful death imaginable.

  • stuff like this makes me almost criminally insane god forbid i ever see something like this i couldnt stand back and take that. i would have to kill the person

  • How about we put a hook throug his face and break all of his legs and then for punishment throw him in da ocean

  • the dogs used to sick this poor thing wernt even pitbulls they were mutts!

  • Why can people be so fuckng sick. I am sick of the fucking human race. I hope the people who do this get the worst torture i can imagine.

  • I know this is an old video but Im still commenting...The is the same as putting an elderly man into a gang fight! What part of that action could have seemed ok with not only the illegal fighters but the jack wads watching it in the park? ALL of them should be fined and the mugs who took the dog should be jailed for no less than a year and put them in a cell with Bubba!
