HELLO, NICE VIDEO, if you can put the wind generators up another ten to twenty feet you will enjoy double the power that you see now the turbines are searching because of the turbulence of the rooftop, higher is always better, however you will need to secure them with more guys and do not forget to run a ground wire to a suitable ground stake for lightning protection!! I love the TV camera idea that is cool....

Why did you say 24 amps was too much? Is it because your controller can't handle it or what is your reasoning? I say, the more amps the better! Let it ride!

Is it safe to use a solar charge controller for a wind generator
-
Just wait, I'm tring some stuff with 12v motor an pullys, belt drive to a 10,000 watt power generater head this should lower cost and not need as many pannels

Hello, Have you heard about information on solar pannels with household mirrors pointed at them ? so far mine are holding up, but i have cheep panels to test and mess with. Were do you get an amp meter that can mesure with and without?

man ametek motors are hellishly expensive
No problem, they're controllers and they don't mind what the power source is.

Too much over technical crap in the comments as usual that put's people off trying to build their own turbines,Ive been at this for over 2 years and it's AMP's that charges batteries.I have a Ametec 38v not an ideal example but one most starting out seem to be directed to.Pearsonly if i was starting out again i would go for a windblue alternator probably work out cheaper than buying a Ametec and messing about for years trying differant blades and acheiving on average 2 to 4 amp and 10 in a gail.

@evadb51 I actually tried the windblue, geared and not geared, and it was the same as with the Air-X, I wasn't getting any juice (amps nor watts, I know my maths). It certainly has to do with wind consistency, velocity and the urban environment. Any DC motor will produce electricity, I've been tempted to use e-bike/e-scooter motors but I'd rather build and ride those for the moment.

Well, It only provides what it provides.
In order to realy be off the grid, I'd need 300 solar panels and 80 batteries.
A little stiff for profiding your own power...

how much money do you have to spend to do this?

Too much!
I'm not just buying things and expecting results, I've had to experiment, tried things, wire, rewire, rewire again. This is not cheap.... but I wanted to try it out and I'm happy with whatever it does.
About money: I guess 3000.
