My Hickok 6000A Tube Tester

This is my best tube tester, a Hickok 6000A.
I use this to test the newer tubes.
Hickok tube testers are one of the best tube testers if not the best you can get.
There are better models like the 539, etc.

No problemo! It's unclear in the manual... And just about everyone on YouTube or other places have it wrong! I actually just figured it out myself! Hope you didn't throw out any "bad" tubes! That's how I figured it out... A bunch of kt88's and 5751 "command" series worked great but tested off... I wasn't just gonna mark THEM bad! Good to second guess yourself on some stuff, Eh? i noticed it read transistors on the meter, does it test transistors as well?

One mistake to point out - That's not a bad tube.
On the Hickok 6000 series - you set the shunt to the value stated on the roll for a simple GOOD/BAD test. You set the shunt to the value posted on the roll - and it was in the green so it's good!
To get the actual Mut Conductance reading... set the shunt to the red-dot on the shunt knob.. there are three red dots on it... for the ranges shown on the meter.
0-3000
0-6000
0-15000
Since you are looking for 5000 uOhmos... use the second dot.
