The 4 o'clock stove has achieved great popularity historically as it does currently for its small compact design and high artistic merit. Lit at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, these small stoves warmed the Victorian bedroom until the family retired to sleep. This stove is the perfect size stove for bedrooms, bathrooms, studies or any small to medium sized room. Treasured for its petit size and efficient burn, the 4 o'clock stove is also desired for its many endearing features. Removable and hinged doors can be drawn to reveal a glowing fire. Intricate design work cast on sides of the chambers stove represent the artistic and architectural trends of the Victorian and Gothic eras. Decorative urns and hidden cook lids offer some cooking conveniences. These stoves be loaded from either the side or the top. The enduring charm of the 4 o'clock stove will make it a favorite for generations to come. As sleep nears replacing the doors and closing the dampers safely closes the stove for the night.
