Pianola plays the Pogues

I had a request for this tune and made a one off arrangement especially for the customer, naturally I had a copy for myself - 'Fairytale of New York'. If sufficient people are interested, I could make this roll available to buy.

The pianola dates from 1920. The tune is encoded in a roll of paper which is perforated with holes which correspond to the notes. The whole system works by pneumatics - a vacuum pump operates valves and these operate the piano keys.
