Virginia Woolf was a genius. For anyone who has not had the pleasure of reading her books, her diaries or her essays, I strongly recommend them. Do not take a dramatisation of her depression in the film The Hours as representative of her. She was a joy-filled person too, and wrote about living in this world in a way that nobody had before or has since.

someone help me, i've only read the book... but that's the moment in which orlando meets shelmerdine isn't it? why can't i remember anything about a labyrinth at this point in the novel?

I just adore this- brilliant art.
She turns from judgement, and accuses it.
On her own terms she runs into the maze of life and searching- for years. And the harpsichord makes way for the piano virtuoso, with costume to match the era too.
Then when she's ready, she emerges, running for her heart, and calls to the earth for love.
Magical.
This scene is magical. Its so poetic and beautiful. Amazng amazing amazing
