Wing Chun Training
Hello, this is Ben Jacobsen with the Placerville Wing Chun Club. I am posting a video response talking about the Wing Chun Technique, Lan Sao
There is a couple of points I would like to make about the Lan Sao. The first is that it is a very good technique for dealing with attacks coming in from your side
The other thing about the Lan Sao - similar to the Pak Sao in that it can be used both going out and coming back in. This is where you start to get in to some of the Wing Chun trapping techniques.
Look forward to posting more in the future, have a great day and train hard!
Some systems refer to the pek jung as sol jee(sweeping fingers). The focus of the pek jeung being energy released through the wrists at the extension to throat of an opponent. You don't use the forearms to press on the extention of the arms because you would be disconnected from your structure.

I just want to add this bit of info. The lan sau is a covering/trapping techinique that immobilizes by pressing the forearms outer edge into an opponent or for controlling a certain position. In the siu nim tau form when the arms are in the double lan sau or wan lan sau, the extention of the arms is called pek jeung.
