This is a simulation done for the Phase 2 segment of the Expo Line through the at-grade Overland Avenue, Westwood Boulevard, and Military Avenue crossings. The crossings are protected by crossing gates. There is a station just east of Westwood Boulevard. Both the parking and no-parking options for the station are shown. This Phase 2 segment of the Expo Line will start construction in 2011 and open to 4th Street and Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica in 2015.

  • @interurbans Soundwalls are just below the windows of the train. Climbing vines will be planted on the walls, they'll be covered in green within a few years.

  • Why is the train traveling so slow across Overland and why do the gates stay down so long after the train has passed?

Also why are the “sound walls” so high. The noise generated by the trains is below the car’s floor line. If needed at all they should be no higher than 3 or for feet, not 8 to 10 feet. They are like a huge “Chinese wall” dividing the neighborhood and a target for graffiti even in nice neighborhoods.

  • not bad a 2nd LRT to the ocean and the staples Center awesome
