cool - thanks for the info - might have to grab one myself then (just ordered a cheap little 'micro-shotgun' mic (designed for laptop skypers) to plug into the side of the zi8 to see if that helps with sound) - have a few vague ideas for using the macro lens for a deliberately 'arty' teacher film for the peterborough awards next year

how you finding it to use (assuming you got the magentic one) ? - does the lens attachment remove completely to allow use of the original lens setup ?

@pHHHz It's great, you get a slight fisheye effect around the edges on the wide angle but I think that's a plus. Yeah it's just a small metal ring with adhesive on one side. It adds about half a mm to the front of the camera and you can hardly see it, then you are free to add or remove the lens whenever.
