The barber knows her trade. Perfect use of the scissors, comb and denman. As it was a training exercise im sure there would be more technique and finishing touches eg. edging, tapering and razor work ect on her personal clients but for the sake of instructing her student both have done a great job. It is inspirational to see the correct techniques and tools of our trade used properly, i only wish my apprenticeship had been served under such an understanding and relaxed barber. :)

As a fellow barber, I enjoy watching other styles and techniques. Keep in mind, fellow viewers, that when barbering began, there was no electricity for a set of clippers to be used, so a set of long shears was the main tool for use. Waldorf is great because keeps to old fashioned standards of real barbering. I like that about them and would one day LOVE to visit. From the States--Fantastic job, Waldorf!!

@DeWittAlbright What your doing is traditional barbering this is how i was taught & the standards speak for themselves, if someone uses clippers i think thats fine but when it comes to blending without scissor over comb its 3mm out & as a traditional barber you can see that from the other side of the room! we need the standards to be kept high. thank you for your vids i love watching them :)

@TheRockabillyBarber where in the world do they say that he'sgetting a rockabilly style cut?

Can I ask your opinion on whether you should be doing the blending with the comb at a 45 degree angle rather than the way you are holding it horizontal? This is suppose to give a better blend with less chance of transitional demarcation lines. Also, a good rotary clipper would be better (Andis Master) to use rather than run the risk of Carpal Tunnel syndrome & Arthritis with repetitive strain on the thumb. Also shears/scissors are far more dangerous and less accurate than clippers?
The haircut was done by a student. Not Linda. It's not meant to be a rockabilly haircut Cody.

It might not be the way you do it in Australia, but scissors over comb has been used in the Waldorf since 1929. We have all the old textbooks out back to prove it. It is a more difficult but better technique to master than machine over comb. And NO those are NOT thinning scissors! Eww!

Well Cody, let me set the record straight! This haircut was NOT done by Linda but by one of her week one students.
Secondly it's not a rockabilly haircut so the line fade can be higher or lower than a rockabilly hairstyle might dictate.

That would normally be the case but she was tidying up the haircut after a student - me - had done it.
