Tijuana Taxi (BBC2 1974-1975)

Now, many of you would surely remember and are very familiar with this particular tape, particularly for viewers in Wales who may have regularly heard this as it formed part of a regional opt-out tape entitled Swing Low Sweet Chariot tape, along with the second and third sections of The Trolley Song and Don Fernando. This was in service from April 1974 when it replaced the Overture: Girofle-Girofla tape and ran until December 1975 when it was replaced by Flying Over San Jose. Enjoy!!!!

Whenever I hear thins tune now I roll around with laughter at the thought of stupid drivers having their cars destroyed by bollards in Manchester!

I can't help but smile when i am reminded of these almost primitive test cards, I used to watch them hoping that a tv prog would come on any minute..........Love the daft tunes too!!

Will that Tijuana taxi take me back to the early 70s, and here this music all again? Still a couple of unknown pieces I`m listening for. I think they came after the Brigg fair piece, the 4th piece on Oh No John. Many thanks cwilliams1976.

I remember this, but sometimes it would cut to the Philips electronic testcard in Wales, do you have the music that was played on the Philips testcard at that time and the complete sequence of music for this section playing now?

I have the complete sequence but it is on CD and at the moment it is in storage and I won't dig this up until I have moved which is what I am in the process of doing now.
