A rare astronomical event caught on time-lapse video captured through solar glasses. Time-lapse captured at one frame per second. Sun spots can also been seen on this video. A higher speed view of the transit can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fk-n7S...

Most of the activity took place along The Esplanade at Darwin's foreshore. The sun is moving across the screen because my camera does not have a tracking system. Nevertheless, an interesting view of Venus crossing the Sun's surface that won't happen again for over a hundred years.
