Mawlid is not bidah but sometimes ignorant people let the celebrations stray into haraam practices - like free-mixing of sexes, missing Fard prayers, watching tv, etc.

@parloitaliano1 - Nothing wrong with Mawlid. please refer to the article which was written by the hadith and tafseer master Shaykh Jalaluddin Suyuti. Yes he is indeed the Jalaluddin Suyuti who co-authored the highly acclaimed "Tafsir al-Jalalain". You can read it on islamicacademy. org
