In our story, a delirious Frank has called out for Jill, but Diana is the only one who hears him and doesn't tell Jill what he said. The Ryan family tracks down Frank's son Johnno who is attending college in the Pacific Northwest. Johnno promises to return to New York as soon as possible. Frank becomes fully conscious and makes a statement that clears Rick in his shooting. Everyone is convinced that the man Frank and Rick have been trying to bust is criminal Alex Devore. No one knows that the real head of Overlord is Max. Ryan accidently reveals details of Rick's undercover work to Max. Learning that Rick has gone to Devore's warehouse for a meeting, Siobhan and then Ryan head for the warehouse, followed by Max. There's a shootout between the Siobhan, Rick, Devore, and his criminal associates. Devore shoots Cicero, then Devore is murdered by Vinnie, who escapes. Max arranges it to look as if Devore and Cicero shot and killed each other, and the police are satisfied that Devore was the Overlord leader. First aired Friday August 15, 1986.
Note: John Reid Ryan, returning as an adult, is now being played by Jason Adams, and Ryan's Hope creator Claire Labine has returned as co-headwriter with Tom King and Millee Taggart.
I love that RH kept sets over the years... Frank's apartment, the bar, etc...watching soaps these days, all the familiarities are gone...I don't like things changing...
