Driving the A619/A623/A6 from Mansfield to Manchester Airport on 9 December 2011 at night, in a blizzard. The roads were covered in packed snow and ice, it was very foggy and windy, and the snow was extremely heavy. I almost crashed several times on some of the sharp bends particularly around Peak Forest, but eventually arrived in one piece.
Captivating. Reminds me of a drive through Zakarpatia Mountains, almost exactly a year ago that I have made with a friend. Left Lviv at about midnight, for us to have a flat tyre in the middle of nothingness at half past two in the morning. I swear that the motorest we hit about a mile down the road was the only dwelling for twenty miles either way.
