This was my 1st show, great show, sound trouble made them take time before every song which is a good thing, tuning and such, eyes, wheel, this tune. The old garden was great, this spring run was the dead at their best although the next 3 decades was allot of fun too,got ticks for the hard rock in Vegas next month to see Phil and Bob because when they are done the music will slow but never stop, Have fun Today

I really like Donna. Idk why people hate.

Probably my favorite recording of this song, absolutely great. And I usually dont like Donna, but I really have to say here she is great. And while I think the best years were 71 and 72, 77 has some very, very, very high points. I was only a year and a half old when jerry died, but if I could listen to only one band from now till the end it'd have to be the Dead nobody can rock like this

I love the 5/9/77

@saighdude1 Spring 1977 my friend. A sweet spot in time for the Dead. Many gems to be found in April and May of that year. The first one that blew my mind in high school on a maxell II tape with surprisingly decent quality was the Grandaddy (though quite debatable) of the run Cornell 5/8 the next night. Then there's 5/9 in Buffalo the night after that which was ANOTHER classic. That Travis Bean has such a sweet sound too.

love donna, always will. there werent many songs that suited her in the beginning but after 75 i think she sounded great on the songs she sang on.

donnas the shit stop hating

People are always hatin on Donna . I guess it didn't matter then and it doesn't matter now whether people like her or not . The Grateful Dead liked her and employed her . I think Donna provided a nice contrast
