Maiden flight of my Extra 260 with a DLE 30 cc gasoline engine and an 18x8 MA prop. I had put 1.5 lbs of lead in the nose to keep it tame for the maiden, this put the C.G. about 1 1/2 inches ahead of the recc C.G. I have since pulled the lead out and finished decorating the plane. Flies great, engine is trouble free right out of the box- didn't touch the needles. great combo for sport aerobatics. enjoy the video.

  • I have just purchased this aircraft. I read the PDF file on the instruction manual after purchasing it; which really spooked me. As I kept reading the manual I could tell that the individual who wrote the technical manual did not know what he or she was writing about. This almost made me cancel the order. I got the aircraft and looked at it and was happy to see the manual did no justice to the manufacturing of the plane. How the word cardboard was used in the manual is what spooked me.

  • @TOPHAT1966GS I dont remember anything about cardboard, but I love the plane. I did reinforce the engine box with epoxy and pinned the firewall with small 1/8th round toothpicks and epoxy- so far has held up well to 9 months of punnishment with a DLE 30cc gasser. also reinforce the canopy hold down tabs with epoxy. overall a great flying plane, lots of fun!! hope you like yours too!! roger

  • What is your CG reading on this aircraft?

  • @TOPHAT1966GS measuring from the front of the CANOPY (where the canopy butts up against the firewall), I put it at 10.5cm for early flights, then I moved it back to 12.5cm for more aerobatic flights, this give flat inverted flight with no elevator input. hope it helps. roger

  • Why Dont you return it for warranty work i belive DLe has 2 years ?

  • @RCFlightReview I changed out the spark plug and it runs great!! I shouldn't have doubted DLE!

  • @RCFlightReview ya, thats right, I'm so used to fixing things myself, I forgot. of course that means it'll be out of commission for 2-3 wks. If a new plug dosent help, ill send it in. thanks

  • @RCFlightReview , thanks, I am having a bit of trouble with it now. ran great out of the box, but I'm at about the 7th gal of gas and started running rough, I tried tweaking the needles and even rebuilt the carb, still not running well at all- multiple deadsticks....I'm still messing with it, It started out as a great engine, we'll have to see if it lasts more than 3 months!! Roger

  • Sounds like a nicely set up and broken in DLE30! Motor Sounds Great!! I See you Leaned it Out Nicely !

  • @youmanskids/ It sounds so negative when you say it lol.
