Pamuk is a magician. I've read 3 novels by him and I not only admire him for his artistry but also for his courage in voicing some of the most troubling issues of our times. People who denounce him as "traitor" do not know the ABCD of literature. How can someone doubt his deep love for Turkey after reading, say, "Snow"? Every page of the novel bears witness to his genuine love for his country. It's another thing that for people like Pamuk, as for all sensible people, LOVE is often more nuanced.

Has he written any book in English? I hope not.
I am not impressed with his English when he talks.

I never knew he is a jew (yahudi) from Turkey,one day I have seen an ad in San Francisco Chronicle under-famous jewish writers going to sign their books etc.-This guy is from a very rich family,he never worked in his life.He had so much time to come up or make up phony-fake ass stories.I believe he is using jews for his personal gains.Mr.pamuk thinks that he is talking for all Turkish citizens.In Turkey he has zero credibility-respectability.Pam

It's ridiculous how modern-day Turkey deals with the Armenian genocide claiming it's a western conspiracy, everybody is against Turkey, the Armenian archives are still closed (which is complete rubbish), and blahblah. And simply because he addresses this issue, he's called a "traitor." Ludicrous idiots.

@turkishwulf1988 Please don't write something so childish and arbitrary!! Explain why and which part of Mr. Pamuk is so objectionable that you have to say this against him?! He's a great writer and has been recognized as so by both Turks and non-Turks alike! Pick a book of his and read. Don't be brainwashed by nationalists or be fed with whatever they try to shove to you.
