There is abit more to the story than the version Catherine has floated around since her departure. Catherine became a problem midway through her first season through to her last season. She became notorious for being late to the set, several times a no show. She had alot of personal issues going on during her time on the show which she touched upon during the retrospect. The demand in salary seems to have been all Spelling, the Shapiros and ABC were going to take from her and just said "bye bye"

you want to compare catherine and karen? please! catherine was perfect in this role! snobby and classy! then karen comes, this valley girl with no acting capability! fired after 13 eipsodes, because letters came in from the audience they wanted catherine back! also a fact that dynasty went so downhill in season 7! from 7th in the ratings to 24th!

Exactly! C.O. wasn't the greatest actress, but she was perfect for the role of Amanda. IMHO, the only reason that Amanda's character was written out of the show, is because they needed to get rid of K.C. They should have just paid Catherine the $2,500 increase that she asked for, and call it a day. If C.O had stayed, it would have been great to see an Amanda/Clay/Sammy-Jo love triangle, instead of pairing Amanda with the chauffeur. Amanda & Sammy-Jo would have had some great cat fights!
