After a long period of engineering works, Virgin Trains announced their quickest ever service between Liverpool and London. To signal this event, we employed a high visibility channel to deliver an innovative approach to personalisation and engaged the people of Liverpool in a uniquely Virgin way.
We used the largest digital screen in Europe, outside of Liverpool train station for personalised, one-to-one communications for the very first time, writing over 100 personalised headlines LIVE in ONE DAY. It was cheeky, innovative and uniquely Virgin.
Involving a web application that we wrote to communicate directly with the ad-serving system in use by the media owner, we wrote copy live into a giant digital billboard positioned in the street. To do this we put a copywriter (and part time standup comic) in a café over the road to comment on the events as they happened.
