@NinjaHira - that technique is called "Ashi teko gata nage" or "leg lever shoulder throw". The lever point is the shoulder. It creates the momentum. Thanks for this answer goes to Sensei Sam Koch (Tohkon Ryu JuJitsu) and Shihan Howard Quick (Shinkendo Australia)

@kalihibiscus Sam Koch is one of the best around Brisbane after Mark Haseman. I reckon Sam will take over his legacy. I have seen a lot around town and Sam is up there by far. I'd hate to see him in his older years. Lethal.

@fakwabadiba - you're right - Sensei Sam has a LOT of knowledge way past the pure mechanics of a technique.

That is more like Akido not Jujitsu

@Grapplingbabes2010 - aikido comes from jujitsu, but this is most definitely japanese jujitsu. For demonstration purposes certain moves might be 'glossed' (to protect your partner, for better audience understanding etc). EG most punters don't understand the pain of a kote gaeshi and why the other person would move to get away from the pain. But a tenkai kote gaeshi looks more flashy sure, but the gen pop can kind of work out how the person gets moved.
