A video by the Max Planck Society regarding the regeneration qualities of the Mexican salamander. The researchers believe that humans lost the ability to completely regenerate during the course of evolution. It is, however, possible that this ability has only been suppressed and could somehow be reactivated in the future. Video date 2004. Source-

  • Having an axie of our own, vids like these make watching them (which is irresistible anyway) even more intriguing, even though we already knew they regenerated fast, of course :).

    Though the test subject was not an albino :p (its a Leucistic axolotl, albinos lack pigment in the eyes)

    Isn't it just amazing how old these creatures have grown, and ultimately even serve us in science after coming such a long way? ♥
