On your second point: Nelly may be shit. (I think most rap is shit coz it's boring.) But it's offensive to use gay to mean shit. Like it would be offensive to use "white", "Irish" or "soldering", to mean shit, so have some respect.

The word "nelly" used to be used a lot to mean a sissy. Not used so much today, but i'm surprised you've not heard it. I guess you've been too busy soldering...
