This series is very underrated, and I consider it the beginning of the Bulls-Knicks rivalry.

Ha ha ha idiot Mark Jackson, the eternal poster boy of MJs dunks as a knick & pacer. No wonder he licks Kobe's balls to bilittle MJ's GOATness & greatness.

This might be the only year the (Jordan) Bulls and (Ewing) knicks were equal. In 89' the knicks had their best season in like 15 years going 52-30 while among the league leaders in team scoring with solid defense and rebounding from Oak and Patrick, with the run and gun style of G. Wilkins, Mark Jackson, Johnny Newman, Ewing, Kenny Walker, etc. The Bulls only went 47-35 but really started to heat up in the playoffs as they upset Cleveland nd N.Y. and playing Detroit tough

Agreed. But MJ proved to be a little too much.

Yes, and that Game 6 in 1989 was very similar to the Game 6 in 1993. They had to close it in Chicago, or face a loud New York crowd. Many elements of the Knicks were different at this time; there was no organ for the "Defense" chant, and instead of John Starks at the point, we had Mark Jackson.

Yes Riley did take credit for the Knicks' wrestlemania defense that made those series so exciting. Both Bulls and Knicks fans long for those days.

"And1 isn't real basketball"
No argument from me..
"you're comparing And1 to NBA"
Yep, and here's why:
"Our rules are [designed] to [allow] players to [penetrate] for [high percentage] shots. This has [allowed] for [more] high quality [perimeter] shots as well, because of how much [easier] it is to penetrate [today]."
-- Stu Jackson, VP of NBA Basketball Operations; "Stu Jackson Presents", NBA . com May 3, 2007
That's what's CREATED the "individualistic" NBA plays today

What a stupid shot by Jackson with :05 on the clock. Damn, if I had a dollar for every time that the Knicks choked in the 4th quarter...

Ah yes, the blown Cartwright layup at 6:27. I remember my dad and I went ballistic at that. The memories...
The only 30-8-8 in NBA history that season....SCARY...imagine if Pippen and Grant were further developed. Would've been Champs that year

Exactly..
People don't realize that Magic Johnson's BEST season for total # of triple doubles is 18.
MJ almost bested that total in '89 with 15 triple doubles, and he only played the remaining 20+ games of that season at pt guard LOL!!
Just imagine what he would've done had they played him at the point for a substantial amount of time that season...

at 1.35 is prove.. my can get 50ppg or 60ppg. a season if he want to, so today game he might got 70ppg.

A prime MJ would certainly avg close to 40ppg in this era LOL!!
Him being the most VICIOUS attacker of the rim in history, while having the ability to PERFECTLY balance out his drives with a deadly mid range game, post-ups, catch-n-shoot & off the ball movement, he'd be a NIGHTMARE to guard in this era..
CBS Sportline's shot chart PROVED that today's elite wing players scored the MAJORITY of their pts INSIDE 15 ft last year..just imagine MJ circa 1988-93 under these rules LOL!!
