  • @mnactr Actually when I read the review I imagined a less easy-going, comic play. The story of Madame Florence suggested me a somehow tragical story, suggesting her sad story: how she broke her arm and abandoned the piano, about syphilis and being bald and the fact that she died just a month after her concert. A story about fame and strong willness but I haven't seen anything like that in these excerpts.

Do you think I can find something closer to this description in another play?Good luck!!

  • Although I haven't seen Mark Nadler in years, he is as brilliantly funny as ever here; like he was in RADIO GALS. He, and my dearest and best friend, Helen Geller, were inspired in that show. And Mark is amazing here as well. I saw Judy Kaye and Donald Corran in the original production but Mark and Mimi are equally wonderful. I am currently in rehearsal for SOUVENIR where I will be playing Madame Florence Foster Jenkins. How delicious!
