this piece from "projects for prepared ear" was composed around the two most common chords heard on trains traveling through the far west texas towns of alpine and marfa. the K5LA horn was developed especially for amtrak - the B major 6th chord has a slightly less melancholy sound than standard K5H horns - in the key of D# minor 6th - found on the majority of trains. the chords (including the doppler effect) were reconstructed by alyce santoro using a flute. julian mock on nylon string guitar. http://www.preparedear.com
