I think the title of this is misleading all you are telling people how to do is check the recommended gauge of a yarn on the label and the pattern but that doesn't mean the gauge will be the same automatically for everyone because of tension. I was hoping for how to measure gauge on a swatch with the stitches per row and inch. Sorry I'm not trying to be snarky or rude just pointing it out
