  • remember that a severe hypothermia victim may DIE if you hit them up using fire, reason: the fire makes a "fake" warm and this will result in warm blood leaving the heart and cold blood returning to it, meaning heartstroke, this has happen to many people not knowing what they did, the best way to rewarm is to lay naked inside your sleeping bag with a normal tempature buddy, that way you will rewarm natually and slowly, been a medic in the Army so i know what im saying

  • perhaps yiu should note that once your fire is built up and she is stiped of her moist clothing and using the sleeping bag method and the warm buddy method you should use your thermometer to check her internal temp.....if done corectly this will make her blood boil..so be careful .just trying to help!!!!

  • @rickliam Then I guess we'll have to wait for YOUR video in which you try to help people by sharing some important information, huh?

  • @bmbpdk Well said. There was a story in Bill Bryson's book "A Walk In The Woods" that talks about why you don't give someone with hypothermia hot liquid. A bunch of sailors had their boat capsize and when they were plucked from the water, and obviously suffering, they were given hot soup in an attempt to warm them up. They all died because of it.

Good clip brother. Good info that people need to know.

  • Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

  • I think it would be more convincing if it wasnt coming from a kid that is not half my age and whom's voice is trembling

  • when has expert village actually HELPED anyone? :| ...... i have a never seen a comment that thanks expert village for the "informative video" piece of shit channel get off youtube your wasting bandwidth

  • You can be dry as a bone and still become hypothermic. I'm sure most of us "non-experts" already know that. Just wanted to put that out there.

  • this guy needs to not be talking to a camera! I cant stand his voice omg!

  • They shoulda gotten McGinnis Leathers to do this.

  • That's totally incorrect. You don't heat rocks. If you were in the wilderness, the correct course of action would be to put plenty clothes on, a fire, and yes. Curling up in a ball. You clearly don't have a clue what you're talking about. I'd like to see you try to survive in the wilderness with your misguided methods. If you're going to try to make a correction on someones life saving information, make sure you do your research first.

  • lol. dude, you heat up rocks and put them on your stomach, neck, and waist. best cure for hypothermia, right next to steam/smoke baths.

that wouldnt cure you from hypothermia at all, its just going to pospone your death. dont curl into a ball near a fire, thats just gonna give you small ammounts of heat, nothing else.
