Newly opened BWSL or Bandra Worli Sea Link in Mumbai. It is a cable stayed bridge with 4 lanes for each side of the traffic. It is over 4.7 Kms in length and a landmark structure in Mumbai's history.
The bridge was partially thrown open on June 30 2009

  • Mumbai a world class city? Are you joking 2609237? Have a look at Tokyo, Hong Kong, Kualar Lumpar, Dubai etc. I doubt Mumbai will ever be a clean, tidy and well-maintained city. If I had it my way, I'd ban all the homeless and the dangerous busses, rickshaws and old-fashioned taxi's which are all death-traps.

  • I'm beginning to think the bridge hasn't passed the safety standards, if such a thing exists. Bridges of this magnitude, are supposed to withstand the wind, heavy rain, monsoons and earthquakes and earth-tremors.

  • @pogularocky I've just watched the video of the Hyderabad Expressway. What a shame, the highways and expressways in all other parts of India, can't be of the same quality, clean and regularly maintained very well all year round and efficient, along with safe and sensible driving without sounding the horn.

  • blah blah blah

The Airport Expressway, longest elevated expressway in Asia, has been around in Hyderabad for 2 years now. It still looks spanking brand new, clean, green and very well maintained.

  • sometimes u can feel the brdge moving during heavy rains creeps me out

  • get a life dude!

  • Come back in a year from now without regular maintenance and cleanliness, and the Sea Link will have aged by 15 years.

  • wow..thanks for sharing. As a Mumbai native who's states side right now, it was good to get a glimpse of the bridge. It looks pretty neat!

  • Nice to know that it wud cut down the commute times.....I hope ppl drive responsibly!!.

  • it is actually two bridges. one for each direction. right now they opened only one bridge and moving both the up and down traffic from one bridge. once completed it will have dedicated 4 lanes bridge for each direction.
