3 Wheeled Go-Kart...Works Now!!

Heres a short video of my now completed 3 wheeled go kart. Engine is an 8hp GX240 MAX (242cc to be exact) that I got off a water pump. The whole thing took me two years (2 semesters of 1 hour a day) to build. It has a top speed of 52 km/h according to my gps. Gear ratio is about 5:1. I will be tweaking it in the next little while to get the most out of it. Thanks for watching!

looks great .... what gear ratio are you useing? how fast do you think? Now all you have to do is find a strait away thats a few blocks long and open it up.

@tully712 its all in the description. 5:1 and right now its 52 km/h.

@240zguy240 Oh ,ok ... some tims I watch a video and totaly forget about the description. 5:1 sounds like a decent ratio...now if you remove the govener and can get the rpm up to 5000 to 6000 then your speed should almost double if you can get it up to 6k. Just be carefull doing those kind of modifications.

@Tmanskarts haha yeah I could do that but this thing isnt too stable so i'll probably just tweak it for a bit more speed and then be content with it...for now

The - 2% off a perfect mark could be justified by a lack of foresight in not building into the design, chain adjustability on the rear swingarm :)

Good job though - I'm impressed, considering your young age, and newness to fabrication and welding. Well done!
