  • Okay, last question, I think. I don't know if you're familiar with the Black Rapid straps and similar straps, but do you think it'd be okay to use one with this battery grip? I'm assuming it'd be okay, because the battery grip screws into the tripod mount of the D3100...

  • @Pomykalsdj20 I would not foresee any problems with this.

  • Hi again. Just wondered if you TheSnapChick - or indeed anyone - has had the problem of low battery life with grip. Or at least low *indicated* battery life. With mine the battery life bars start to drop after maybe just 50 shots, then soon after show red... I've only just started using my grip properly and plan to test whether the battery indicator is giving a false low reading by continuing to use it until the power actually fails, but just wanted to see if this is familiar to anyone else...

  • @StopFramEmotion I think this happened to me once. I just kept shooting... and shooting... and shooting...

  • @TheSnapChick Thanks for that. I shall try the same and just make sure I have a spare battery at hand in case it does actually fail. So I assume you always get a good life out of a charge?

  • @StopFramEmotion Yup, I shoot all day with it

  • @ps3psnps3 The best aspect of DSLR's is that they are part of a larger system. One minute you can have the grip and large lens mounted, the next minute, you can be ultra-light without the grip and the 35mm f1.8. For me, it's nice to have options.

  • @eveladybug It's a no-name brand on ebay. There are a few different brands on ebay/amazon for these, and I think they are actually all the same grip.

  • thanks for this video... i have the same camera and i was looking for that grip... i love it.... :)

  • @Pomykalsdj20 It's pretty nice. It's not quite the build quality of the camera itself, but pretty close.

  • @saadhm3d I've never had a problem with them.

  • i uses nikon d3100. when i decided to go for third party grip for my camera the guy at nikon store said its not recommended to use grip on this model and your camera starts malfunctioning after some time, is it true?

how much reliable third party grips are?
