This is Part 2 of 3 Parts, demonstrating assembly methods using fiberglass cloth with polyester resin. The top deck surface is a thin cotton cloth, with the pattern of your choice, saturated and coated with the same resin used on the fiberglass. Part 3 is finishing with polyurethane, and attaching the hardware. WARNING: Always wear eye protection, gloves and a respirator when appropriate. DO NOT use the power tools shown without a full understanding of their operation and safety procedures.

  • Your type says you're using polyester resin but in the video you refer to it as epoxy resin.......which is it? I have a job to glass and I'm trying to study up a bit.

  • The one in the video is polyester, while I've used epoxy also with great results. As you know, both epoxy and polyester have resin and hardener bases, mixed in a certain proportion to cause the chemical reaction of the hardening process. Epoxy is more expensive and more durable in a marine environment. For the price difference, I'd go with polyester for a skateboard, it's still extremely durable for this purpose. Hope this helps.

  • is that comoflague fibreglass?

  • @NickMonteleone i spend a lot of time working with fiberglass and epoxy resin

polyester resin is what you find eat canadian tire it is cheeper and less strong then epoxy resin but still very strong

epoxy is very easy to work with and gives you a great product much stronger then polyester resin i would highly recomend it but you need to do to a boat building shop to get it and costs a bit more

  • Why did you make this so badly??? It looks like a poop

  • Yay to video Nay to camo

  • man i can really see you are used to regular skateboards :P

  • So you are sanding before the hotcoat? Or just not hotcoating?

  • is it possible to just sand the edges to round them as i do not have a router

  • @roydepooi not only stronger but give it more flex.

  • what type of wood?
