I see what you're saying. I misunderstood you. You're right, in every sport, at some point, the basics are all the same. Height is a disadvantage as most catchers, including myself, are short and stocky. I was looking at his weight, as I don't think lanky catchers have many advantages but you're right.

And they are flaws. There's a reason why big leaguers all have the same mechanics. Look at hitters. They all look the same when they make contact. Pitchers, for the most part, all look the same when they release the ball. "Textbook" mechanics could add an extra 100 strikeouts to a season, just by making pitches look like strikes. He's doing the opposite.

while i agree that yeah his blocking and throw down stances were different it is simply because when you know what is coming you are going to accommodate for that. and ingame he still has a pretty good pop time. especially when he throws from his knees with accuracy (only seen the videos of him throwing ppl out like that so idk if he is consistent)
