Tithing is not a New Testament biblical requirement. Tithing to the church wasn't taught by Jesus or the apostles in the 1st century church. There are many of us who have been swindled by this lie.

@DetoxMansion well said mate.. in fact the OT tithe had nothing at all to do with money - it was to be brought in ONCE A YEAR by farmers and given to the Levites. If Jerusalem was too far away for you to haul your grain tithe you could exchange it for CASH and buy liquor and celebrate at Jerusalem! DET 14 :26 "BESTOW THAT MONEY FOR WHATSOEVER YOUR SOUL LUSTS AFTER..FOR WINE OR STRONG DRINK.. AND REJOICE"! Now theres a great command you wont hear pastors preaching on!

It kills me when so called "Christians" say it's only 10%. Yeah on top of the 25% or 30% the govt takes. Tithing was for the levittical preists of the old testament. The new testament clearly say do NOT give under compulsion for the Lord looves a cheerful giver. But tithing is VERY convient for pastors who have a vested interest in it! It is one of the enemy's greatest victories over the church! IT IS A RACKET!!!

tithing is not of God. It was for the jews under the law, was always paid in food, and some were exempt. Tithing is forced and not of grace, under the law. Tithing is wrong. You error not knowing the scripture, woe unto you scribes and pharisees.... Shame on those rich churches who have people in the pews with holes in their shoes as they bash them about paying tithes this is your visitation, repent and give back to the poor.

Yes pay your tithes to the levites decended from aaron, if you can find any and remember no money, grain and food only lets be biblical about this, no one wants to bend the scriptures do they? and keep the whole law also its tithes and offerings so read your old testement to find out which offerings are required ,keep it biblical dont just make it up or alternatively you can step into the new testament and come under the new covenant instead and give of your free will as you feel lead.
