This was found in a direct smear of feces from a dog presenting with bloody diarrhea. He has been on fenbendazole for 4 days. Tested slight positive for giardia 1 week ago.

  • you guys make my brain hurt !!!!!

  • If this was an amoeba, it wouldn't have a distinct shape, which it clearly does.

  • No, it's a flagellate. Whether it's trichomonas, I don't know. It has the distinct characteristics, almost like it's ancestors, the dinoflagellates. If you look closely, it's like a jellyfish with a tip.

  • It's Trichomonas. I see it all the time. They always look like that, like two cats in a pillow case.

  • Entamoeba in dog feces? what could it be? :)

  • definitive its not a flagele!!!

  • yeah, looks more like a amoeba.

  • That isn´t a flagelate, it´s more like an Entamoeba, because I can see pseudopoda in it´s body
