djkrystaifx quit playing granturismo man...does makes your car lighter in some sence...hahaha...yes it does makes your rpms more rev happy yes rev faster and less stress on your pulleys and belts so it does return some hp loss with the light weight flywheel so your motor can spin more freely...but having a light flywheel and driveshaft isnt always the best thing in every automotive sport or for the motor....just remember that...

lighter flywheel means less unsprung weight. same as a light weight drive shaft and light weight wheels. it is easier to turn something that is lighter. there fo it will rev up faster.

Unsprung weight?? Unsprung weight is anything below the suspension, ie, brakes, wheels, tires. The flywheel lies just between the engine and the transmission. Thats about as sprung as it comes.

you are correct. i should have said rotating weight. or rotating mass. if you cut down on the weight of the rotating mass it spins easier correct? Yes! it is the same as making the unsprung weight in the wheels less.
