Cap and Trade Will Destroy the Middle Class

HR-2454 is being Fast Tracked by Congress. This bill will mean HUGE increases in the cost of energy for average Americans and American business. This proposal will raise the cost of gasoline by $7 per gallon. The same increase will take place for home heating oil, electricity and natural gas.

I see everyone commenting on how bad this is, why? Money? Im not rich, i cant afford shit. You whiners are simply jumping on the band wagon. He is taxing fossil fuels (which are bad), they said nothing about taxing more technological forms of energy- like Wind, Solar, Geo-Thermal, and hell even Zero Point energy. Alternative energy IS a great idea. Wind, Solar, Geo and other alternatives are ALREADY under development. You cannot FORCE technology to work when its NOT ready. The Wright Brothers simply could NOT get the moon. Alternatives are coming. There is NO reason to destroy my family because you want to force history and technology to move faster. If you REALLY believe in "clean" energy NOW, we can build nuclear plants: No oil, no CO2, cheap power,happy planet, plenty of energy.

Yeah this will happen if you keep using the old energy that is being capped DUUUUUH!!! if you use the renewable it will be astronomically cheaper. That is cap and trade. The bad energy is expensive and the new energy is cheaper. Obvious!

John R. Christy has been accused of recanting his position that climate change is neither Anthropogenic nor Catastrophic, but he didn’t. He used two independent data sets, weather balloon and satellite. (see links in my about me) Later he only stated that there was some anthropogenic impact that could not be predicted 100 years out, but that what we’re doing was good for the plants.

1 /2 Obama stop offshore drilling until it was reinstated. This could cause a $5 a gallon increase, because we would grow dependent upon foreign nations we are not allies with in order to provide our oil. Cap and Trade (American Power Act) would increase gas prices increase by $2.58 a gallon according to George C. Marshall Institute& taxes on the average household up to $3200 according to the RNC Foreign countries price gouge w/ gas prices to $10/gal!.

Indeed prices will go up. Change will hurt everybody. If only there was a political solution that could fix our problems.

If global warming is real, shouldn't we try to do something? The cataclysmic end we face is more important than finances. If it is real then likely it is more of a problem then we know, halting emissions to zero right now does not fix it.

With that it does seem we should live comfortably as long as possible before our doom.

I think this bill is brilliant. It forces your company to be friendlier to the environment by installing alternative fuels. Then you can actually get money from NOT reaching the so-called "cap". I don't understand when people are saying "PEOPLE WILL DIE FROM THIS BILL" bullshit. If they don't get with the program, that's too bad. It's not that difficult to INVEST in RENEWABLE energy and then later down the line, actually receive money? WHOA That's a 2 step process OMG THAT WAS SO DIFFICULT -.-"
