Norwegian outdoors expert Lars Monsen embarks on an exciting adventure in Nordkalotten, the area of Scandinavia north of the Arctic Circle.
In this episode, Lars is skiing in northern Sweden. He spends the entire Arctic 'dark time' out in the open, noting the physiological effects this has on the human body. He continues the training of his dog Foss, tries some ice fishing, and celebrates Christmas and New Year in wilderness style.

  • Du bommet muligens litt med kalotten, 0pol0.

Men hjertlig takk for at du har oversatt serien.

  • @Monkeyboymug Jeg gjettet bare, fordi den var den eneste definisjon av kalott jeg har hørt. Finnes det en annen definisjon av kalott, da?

  • What does Kalotten mean?

  • @WhiteLightning1776 It's a word for a small cap worn on the top of the head. The Jewish skullcap, for example, could presumably be counted as a type of kalott, likewise the small cap the Pope is often seen to wear.

  • @OriginalMindTrick haha jag med

  • This makes me proud to be Swedish.

    Heja Norge!

  • @WhiteLightning1776 The north cap is an accurate translation. You could see this area as "the hat" of Scandinavia. All the best.

  • @0poi0 Se tittelen på programmet : L. M. Nordkalotten. ;) Alt land nord for polarsirkelen.

  • @WhiteLightning1776

I guess you mean it in the word "Nordkalotten" ? It's "Cap of the North"

From Wikiedia: he Cap of the North (Nordkalotten in Danish, Norwegian and Swedish, or Pohjoiskalotti in Finnish) consists of the provinces / counties Finnmark, Nordland and Troms in Norway, Norrbotten in Sweden and Lappi in Finland.

This Arctic area is located around and north of the Arctic Circle in the three Nordic European countries Norway, Sweden and Finland, and the Kola Peninsula in Russia

  • @0poi0 So would North Cap be an accurate translation? Or north hat? Thanks
