  • One of the best moments of Siegfried, unfortunatelly I´ve only gone to see Siegfried und Götterdammerung, great experience, Wagner is not easy to forget...

  • Unfortunatelly? I've never gotten to see any of Wagner's operas live ¬¬

  • The forging scene has to e very active to work - Siegfried is reforging the sword after all. Some productions have Siegfried standing around doing nothing - or have hammering sounds coming from the opposite side of the stage. At least this production followed Wagner's stage directions!

  • great video!

  • What a great Mime!

  • I bet Siegfried Jerusalem was pretty darn tired after this performance.

  • @glenfagelfors musically--but not visually

  • Wonderful traditional/minimalist production--you won't find this at wretched Bayreuth--where garbage can sets and businessmen Wotans rule with imported 'directors'

  • do you have full this version of the ring of the nibelung?

  • I love how the guy who plays Siegfried name is Siegfried Jerusalem, like he was destined to take the role as Siegfried

  • I love his "hoho's" and "hahei's!"

  • @100yearoldWhiskey Levine's tempo is just fine. As long as the performance captures Wagner's intent and character, the performance is good. After all, that is what the performance is for.

  • @amm1t5 Thank you!

  • too bad you never saw any of the Ring live! Go to Bayreuth. my father sang Mime with Sebastian conducting in Lyon Opera. I knew the whole scene by heart, but unfortunately I cannot sing.
