VG has played a lot with Clapton and is a great guitarist. Was just up jamming and complimenting a friend. Neither guy feels the need to show anything to anyone to prove anything. Vince would be doing whatever they ran through in soundcheck. Wouldn't be intimidated (I don't believe) for a second. Clapton wouldn't have him up there for the heck of it. Doesn't pander to anyone or anything. Didn't even play "Tulsa Time" in Tulsa, OK. on tour last time.
OMG! I can die & go to heaven a happy woman now! Thank you SO very much for posting this! Vince & Eric are simply two musical gems! They should make a CD together some day! Thanks again - this is awesome!
saw the show. I think VG was just giving Clapton his due since it was a EC concert, not VG plus EC worked Vince into the show just for the one night. Just respect and definitely not being "timid". VG has been around the rock world way back and can hang with most anyone on guitar. EC did look a bit tired, but he just came off the tour with Jeff Beck in Europe plus he is coming up on 65 years old soon. Many his age are sucking dinner through a straw!
I was on the front row at this concert, right in front of them, but a little to the right side. Don't understand how anyone could call this a weak concert. Clapton has gone blues for years now. That does not make it less great. I shot a video of their "Running on Faith." I also shot a few photos, two of which Vince and his people have bought the rights for, and I am going to have one autographed by him. Vince's presence although timid, perfectly complimented what EC does now.
WOW! awesome! and with Steve Gadd on drums too!

I was a little disappointed that they played the acoustic version instead the regular version, but it's better than not at all.

I was there and loved it. Kinda disappointed with acoustic "Layla" but it was still good. Roger Daltrey was really awesome.
