This is a video shot back in 1995 when my grandfather was 91 years old and he was just discussing the thoughts of getting old and these are just random thoughts but I felt like sharing and giving people a little insight of him... It is put to song "Old Dog Blues" and original song by my grandfather that just fit the mood of his conversation. © 2010 Glen Clark, All Rights Reserved, Fieldspan Music
Octa was the one i wanted to learn from. In Tokyo! Of all the CDs I bought at Tower Records in Shibuya, his was the one. His playing was perfect. There are many great accordion players of French music but Octa was the only one my ears heard that was...perfect.
Thank you for this video. i always wanted to thank your grandfather for his wonderful gift.

Bon Dieu! What a pleasure to know this exists! I interviewed your grandparents in the 80s and would love to give you a copy if you're interested. Would you be willing to let me subtitle this in Cajun French to use it for teaching?

Jolie réflexion... c'.était un bon p'tit vieux!
A little mistake in subtitle.... "faudrait qu'jouerais" translates "I'd had to play" and not "I'd had to cry"

Thank-you so much for this snippet of video, it's urgent and necessary that this side of our culture-- the oral, the french, the introspective, the reflective--be aired in addition to the music. Let's not forsake our linguistic heritage.
