I REMEMBER when sh sharif was elected in, it was inspiring and i was delighted.. now lookin back sh shariif has made many mistakes and has become a another failure. If only he used his former post as the leader as the icu to unite the goverment and the islamist. the killing and the state somalia is in now is worse than when ethopia were here.

Somalis are defending their territorial integrity against cliques of thieves and intruders stealing our fish and dumping nuclear waste into Somalia's seas, and the criminals behind these savage acts must be brought to justice. equally the fight against the lice infested monkies from ethiopia, burundi, rwanda, and uganda shall continue till the Pan Somali flag is erected. we have nothing against the world, except african monkies

niether, im a muslim and i dont believe in nationalism or tribalism, our prophet (pbuh) has warned of this disease & hamdulilah the next generation is a bit more clear thinking.
if you knew the fact that our brothers and sisters in somali galbeed dont have clean water to drink, no homes and no jobs i doubt you wud say anything contrary 2the desperate situation they face.their liberation is NOTHING close 2fantasy and inshaAllah if our brotherhood and longing strengthens everything is possible

In what way are these two regions, Ogadania and NFD worse than Mogadhish? I mean, we are talking about 15,000 death since the Ethopian invasion and the # of dispacemed people are countless. For the " Unity Issue, I beleive the so-called " Somali-weyn" is just a dream idea! Somalis need peace, but not an empty slogan and behind that slogan there is Qabiil. Somali-weyn or Qabiil-Weyn?

there are some political groups in somalia that are suspicious because usa welcomed new president with coments like his election is similar to that of obama when in fact usa was trying to kill him 2 years ago.i think the world community must be smart and not act in a way that makes the new president to look like a puppet for the sake of the somali public.of course we all know he is not a puppet but some power hungry war lords may paint that picture.usa endorse him because change has come

unfortunately Sharif SOLD OUT. He sold huge Somali popularity prior to 2007 for discredited National Traitor and Munafiq since then.

i hope he does something about somali galbeed (ogaden region) and south east somalia (NFD), those areas are in worse situation than mughdisho. what somalis need above all is a man who can lead them and unite the country, we have had enough of western puppet dictators and i hope shiekh sharif will have enough self-respect and fear of Allah to put our deen and out national soverignty before greed which has corrupted so many "leaders" in our government.

Somalis are in no shape or form to come up with soulutions it needs the external help it requires to reconsile the diffrences for over 18years nothing had worked somalis are doomed unless a strong force equivilant of the us to give a helping hand, likewise Iraq..
Wrong. Any international force will be met with fighting.
This has happened before and will again. This move will damage the somali civilans like every other battle.
No to external help. Only the thing that will help somalia is internal revolution!

very informative. I liked Professor Kusow's analysis of clan identity translating in to vulnerability. It really makes sense that clan sentiments and religious extremism have found a fertile ground in the lives of many somalis who were in desperate shape as a result of their clan politics. Now is the time for Somalis to come together and bring change to their country.
