Mario Kart Wii - Jul 1 08 A

Well, it's July now! I think July 1st was Canada Day, and naturally, I found a lot of Canadian people playing. The disconnection problems are almost all gone now, so I was able to play in peace without getting constantly interrupted. The Jetsetter turns out to be great. Looks like I know how to use it properly now.

However, I couldn't escape disconnection entirely. I already know this game won't let me get above 8000 VR, as it disconnected me when I was at about 7860, taking away about 230 points.

Race #1
Wario's Gold Mine
Here we go! A proper race without any disconnections. It's pretty clear the people in the room didn't like me anymore, as I was viciously thrashed on the first lap. However, the Jetsetter's sheer speed allowed me to catch up, even if it took the whole race to do so. It was fortunate the attacks stopped after the first lap, and I chose to leave that room because I knew things won't get any better for me.

Race #2
N64 DK's Jungle Parkway
You don't see Funky Kong too much from me. I like him as a character, but for a while, I saw him too much. Daisy has taken over his role as the competitive people's character of choice, however, so it looks like it's safe for me to use Funky Kong again. Sort of. Like the other race, I was chewed up at the beginning, but I was able to catch up anyway. Not completely like in Wario's Gold Mine, and with the assistance of some pretty good luck with items, but still, I got an insane amount of points.

Race #3
Bowser's Castle
I got even more points here though, and while I used a Bullet Bill's assistance, maintained the 2nd place to the end of the race. I meant to upload a race on Rainbow Road where I actually placed 1st without much help from items. It felt pretty bizarre to emerge victorious against a bunch of people in the 9000s, many of whom with two or three stars. Oh yeah, and check it out--Dry Fer is a 3-star Wii Wheeler.

What i also dont get is that quite a few racers use the Magikoopa bike & the Dolphin Dasher instead of the old Mach Bike, Bowser bike or Bullet Bike. I wonder why?

The Magikruiser has the highest Off-Road stat in the game, and the Dolphin Dasher is a more balanced version of the Mach Bike for those who seem to get hit a lot.
