A track using the J Dilla beat "A Day Wit The Homiez" I added some interview clips in there from common and from J dilla himself. The man was a complete and utter hip hop and music legend, and I wanted to pay respects to him the only way I know how to, through music. Appreciate you all listening, and I appreciate any feedback, hopefully I have done the beat justice.
Lyrics: burdens hatch in this so called life,
got birth and taxes, death and a wife,
what's the point i say, who decided this life,
that we live this way, and not how we like,
they say life's sacred and needs to be saved,
i say we live in a matrix being paid to be slaves,
this tapestry illustrates emotions and pain,
happy clapping the greats free from the notion of gain,
the notion's insane, we're ignoring the pain,
of the murders occuring all in god's name,
and it's hard to relate, cos that god is fiction,
rub my lyrics on the page, together they cause friction,
and cause a depiction, of what's on my mind,
you can't see my affliction and my methods of rhyme,
cos the picture's different, every time,
staying away from the riches until i can fly.
see wars occuring out there on the street,
slaughtered word conversions blurred a freedom of speech,
and they punched the peach and then left a bruise,
medicines out of reach to make the pain reduced,
cos the favoured juice is just a second away,
need to learn the truth don't refrain embrace it,
even when you lie you just can't replace it,
it's there you can't hide so it's time to face it,
walk around with blinders on all of your life,
live with no reminders of the fact you can't live twice,
calm as a grenade when i'm holding the pin,
situation is fatal but before we begin,
need to focus on my words cos you can't erase them,
restart from nought use my thoughts to base them,
cos thoughts are basic so put them to use,
time to ignore the fear and face the truth.
what a sweet dilla instrumental bro.... but i'd say your vocal is hot by about 3-5 dB. again, great vibe and good work all round.
