i think the story is that while blondie was on tour in japan, debbie had this mix tape of bands she listened to constantly...this song was one of them and she loved it but had no idea who had originally recorded the tune...once back in the states she found out and whipped her own version out...at the time i remember thinking wow what a great voice but then to see her...she had that french sex bomb movie star thing (Brigette, Elke)...sultry and smoky...cheers
