@dumuh taking advantage of more powerful PC's. From 1990-2000 clock speeds increased around 50x and then GPU's became dramatically more efficient up untill 2006 since then progress has slowed way down so new PC tech today is less cutting edge than it was back then compared to consoles. Because of this slowdown and rising unemployment/inflation I doubt any new powerful consoles will emerge until at least 2014.

@dumuh I'd say it's more cost of machine/OS, Awkward keyboard controls. For FPS I enjoy a combo of the left side of a PS2 controller fixed to a table and a Mouse. That's too much hassle for most. Then theirs the size(fastdekstop) which many find ugly and then theirs the loud noise. I use fan-less water cooling, again more cost & hassle. Because a new benchmarks setting game now costs so much more than it did back then it's not economical to do many PC only titles or spend extra resources in
